Retiring to the good life

It isn’t easy to leave the home you were married in and where your children were raised. But for Anne and Michael Jenkins it meant lower maintenance, easier living and having time to enjoy the good things in life. From an acreage to an easy life, here’s their story…

After Michael and Anne’s children left their 6 bedroom acreage, they knew it was time to downsize. They wanted to hitch the van and travel as well as enjoy a house that gave them more freedom. While leaving their family home wasn’t easy, they haven’t looked back since choosing the Wentworth from the GenOne range of designs.

As someone who had built homes before, Michael was impressed with the construction phase. “Their communication was spot on. They never spoke down to us or used jargon or excuses. We knew where things were at every step of the way. In fact the build went weeks ahead of schedule. I’m very impressed with how they handled the logistics of it all.”

“Our new home completely fits our purpose. Some friends visited, saw the quality and they’ve done the exact same thing, they’ll do their colour selections with McDonald Jones at the end of this week.” Michael added.

The new home has everything they wanted. Michael loves the alfresco lifestyle, (he’s added a TV and bar fridge outside) and Anne loves the media room. “Everything was done right. We haven’t had a need to get McDonald Jones back, but we see Russ our inspector as he works on other homes around the area and he’s still got a friendly wave and have a chat when he can stop by. It’s good these days to see service doesn’t always stop when the sale is done.”
