Build for a Cure 2021 has Begun!
A global pandemic couldn’t stop the McDonald Jones team from commencing our fifth Build for a Cure home, raising money for the Children’s Cancer Institute.
Although the build schedule has been adapted and significantly altered to meet COVID-19 restrictions and construction site guidelines, we were thrilled to see the beautiful blue frame of the Miami Executive 16 Elite completed and the build progressing this week.
Our Sydney Construction Manager, Trevour Celeban is overseeing the build and is incredibly excited to be able to make this build go ahead. "Just to be able to get this building going, even with the COVID restrictions, is certainly a great thing.”
Record Breaking Fundraising Efforts
The home we are building is in a wonderful estate, on a huge corner block, and with the landscaping and beautiful home, we are building it is going to give us the best shot to make history! We are hoping this is going to be the biggest single fundraising event for the Children Cancer Institute on record.
The home will be auctioned off later this year with 100% of all proceeds going to the Children's Cancer Institute, Australia’s leading childhood cancer research group.
"The house and the land together will sell for at least $1.2 million," says The Institute's Anne Johnston, "All here united with the one aim, that we can get better treatment, so every child can survive their cancer."
It is hoped that eventually, the research that this project is helping to fund will lead to world-leading medical advancements that will in turn help the three kids each week who get childhood cancer in Australia.
This project is possible thanks to Mulgoa Sanctuary, who have donated the incredible block of land, our friends from Brickworks Building Products and a special group of tradies who are donating their skills to build this incredible 4 Bedroom home.
