Christmas is a wonderful time spent celebrating with friends, entertaining visitors who pop in for an impromptu hello and sharing special memories with family in your home. Prepare for the holiday season and blow your friends and family away with these trendy decorating tips that will bring cheer into your home, ready for the festivities.

Claire from our team of expert Interior Designers, who are behind the stunning colour schemes and interior styling for all our display homes, has shared some simple ways to garnish your home with the latest trends in Christmas décor.

  1. Scatter cushions and throw rugs: One of the simplest and best ways to introduce a Christmas theme is by using scatter cushions and throw rugs to decorate your home. Choose Christmas themed cushions and rich coloured throw rugs to achieve this look.
  2. Jarred delights: Collect and fill glass jars with nuts, seeds and dried fruit for festive kitchen decoration. Stone fruits are also a great idea. Not only will these look great when people come to visit, they also make a delicious snack to share around too.
  3. DIY Christmas wreath: Create your own Christmas wreath using foraged greens from around the garden and hang it on the front door or a wall.
  4. Try a non-traditional colour theme: Ditch the gold and silvers for a bolder colour palette. Brighter colours, like pinks and blues, are very trendy this festive season and a great way to bring personality into your home.
  5. Create a themed table setting: Apply a theme to your table setting and, again, don’t shy away from the bright, non-traditional colours. Simplicity is an underlying theme this year.
