A love of eggs benedict led this couple to build with us FOUR times
A passion for walking barefoot along soft sand, home-grown vegetables and fresh eggs inspired Alison and Matthew to start the journey of building their FOURTH, brand new home with us.
The couple have brought a large block of land in the heart of the Hunter region where they will build their fourth McDonald Jones architectural design, our stunning Milano One 15, with plenty of space for a clutch of chooks and substantial veggie garden.
“We sold and built four times because we found a block bigger or we wanted to move closer to the beach. We have enjoyed living in all the designs we have picked but I am most excited about our final choice,” Alison said.
Alison and Matt’s current home is our Havana One Elite, but as their lifestyle has evolved and their kids became older, they decided to upgrade their home and land to something larger to complement their changing needs. One of the biggest requirements for the couple was a floor plan with the inclusion of a back room that would provide Alison with the space to run her new Child Care Educating business at home.
“We are excited about our new house plan, the kids are getting bigger and like their own space, we will have our own space and then there are family and outdoor entertaining areas in the design that we love. We have also added a back room so I can do family day-care from home and shut the door at the end of the day and it not intrude on our personal living space,” Alison said.
“We have chosen to continue to build with McDonald Jones because we love their floor plans, the prices are fair and every time we build the extras get better and better. The designs are fantastic and innovative, there is a huge range so there’s something to suit everyone and we have chosen something different every time as our family grows and changes.”
Equipped with a sister with an interest in interior design and having experienced our MyChoice Design Studio selection process three times before, the couple have really set the bar when it comes to choosing a gorgeous arrangement for the finishing touches on their new home.
“I am very happy with the MyChoice Colour Studio selection process. After originally making my colour choice selections I returned home with a gut feeling that I had chosen incorrectly. The McDonald Jones team were very accommodating for my indecisiveness and allowed me to return with my sister. I now feel 100% happier with my choices and feel they understood that I just needed the extra time.”
Alison and Matt’s new home will feature white tones, including a striking white glass splashback in the kitchen, complimented by earthy greys and browns that will be brought to life in their accessories.
“The experience has been very good; everyone has been really helpful and very professional right from the start. The process has been very smooth, we have been kept in the loop through every stage, and all team members have been friendly and accommodating, which is important when you are making such a big decision at such a large cost,” Alison said.
When asked how the family will be spending their Christmas this year we weren’t surprised by the answer – by the beach of course. “We will be camping for a week so our Christmas will be full of beach swimming, snorkelling, surfing, early morning beach runs and lots of seafood!”
