I love that my job is to turn people’s ideas from a 2D drawing into a real home! Every family has different needs, and McDonald Jones Homes gives me the tools and trusted brand to support them through their build journey. I enjoy being part of a company that values, quality, accountability and people, it gives customers the confidence throughout their build.

I’ve been working in the building industry since mid-2020, all that time with McDonald Jones Homes. I started as an assistant and have worked in many areas of the business, from customer service, through to new home sales. This gave me the opportunity to follow a customer’s journey from start to finish and gain experience across regions, including Canberra, South Coast, Southern Highlands and Sydney. Before joining the building industry, I worked in the mobility sector. That experience taught me how important accessibility and flow are in a home, which is something very important at McDonald Jones Homes, with their architecturally designed floorplans.

I focus on being open, approachable and thorough. Building a home is one of the biggest investments most people will make, and I believe in clear, upfront information and honest advice. I take time to listen to what clients want, explain the process in simple terms and provide options that fit into their lifestyle and their budget. My aim is to make the experience more exciting and less overwhelming.

I’d say I’m an expert in explaining the technical side of building in a way that’s easier to understand. Many people don’t know the details of site costs, compliance or developer guidelines, and I enjoy breaking this down simply to my customers, so they feel informed and in control. I also find understanding this helps people make confident decisions without surprises later.

For me, the biggest accomplishment is being invited by customers to their housewarmings and home completions. It’s not something that can be measured on paper, but it shows the positive impact I’ve had throughout their journey and how well looked after they were during the build experience by all the other supportive teams. Being part of so many personal milestones is the greatest reflection that I’ve done my best for people.

I combine strong technical knowledge with a genuine care for people and how they are living in the home. I can easily explain complex parts of building, so it makes sense, while also making sure people feel supported and cared for. I know I’m doing my job well when clients start quoting knowledge and process back to me. I have a calm and approachable style that makes people feel confident in their decisions. I balance creativity with accuracy, so not only do the homes look great, but also work for the block and meet the requirements for the people living in the homes.
