Bill McDonald has long been recognised for the contribution he has made towards the housing industry and to the community through his charitable efforts. Bill was recently honoured with the highly prestigious 2015 Sir Phillip Lynch Award of Excellence, the highest award possible given by the Housing Industry of Australia, and we couldn’t be prouder.

The award pays tribute to Bill’s vast achievements, including his leadership, innovation and generosity. It honours a person in the housing industry who has made innovative and valuable contributions, whose integrity cannot be faulted and whose attitude at every level is one of excellence.

“Bill McDonald is acknowledged within the Housing Industry Association at both a state and national level as someone who has given outstanding service to the sector for nearly fifty years,” HIA Executive Director in the Hunter, Craig Jennion said.

Despite all the recognition, Bill, being a humble man, puts the honour down to the overall effort of the entire McDonald Jones Homes team. “I was stunned when they told me I won this award because I haven’t done anything special, but it does mean a hell of a lot to me,” Bill said.

“I definitely can’t take all the recognition, the people who work in McDonald Jones Homes share my passion for creating dream homes for families and giving generously to help the communities we build across. We all share the same vision and work hard together as a big family to achieve that vision.”
