Spring into Alfresco Living

Spring is upon us… and when we think about Spring, cleaning isn’t the only thing that comes to mind. It’s spending a little less time cooped up indoors, enjoying more sunlight and time outside in the fresh air… and there’s no better place to enjoy Spring than a beautifully styled and highly functional Alfresco.
Here we look at the functionality, design, styling and creating your perfect Alfresco.

What is an Alfresco?

An Alfresco is an outdoor space for family living, casual meals and essentially another space to enjoy your home whilst escaping your four walls!
An Alfresco creates an additional room that can be used all year round and will prove its worth again and again by being the ideal space for casual daily living or wonderful family celebrations.

Designing Your Alfresco

The functionality and practicality of an Alfresco future-proofs a home to suit growing families from the moment they move in and for the many years to come.
McDonald Jones designs are created with considerations given to modern blocks complementing contemporary lifestyles which maximise space and liveability.
Where possible, we design our Alfresco’s with expansive glass windows or doors to connect the indoor and outdoor spaces seamlessly, which adds natural light throughout the indoor spaces.

Creating Your Perfect Alfresco

An Alfresco is a wonderful space for entertaining and ideal for the Australian climate, and the rise in popularity of outdoor fireplaces, fire pits and outdoor heaters means that Winter months can now be spent out on the Alfresco stargazing in comfort.
Another important element to consider for your perfect Alfresco is adding greenery for increased liveability and style, using beautiful pots or vertical gardens or even creating a green wall to make a visual statement.

Alfresco Furnishings

It’s important to create an Alfresco that suits your lifestyle through a considered selection of furniture, so you can make the most of your downtime.
Are you an avid entertainer? Or do you prefer to relax and unwind in a hammock and a good book? Entertainers should consider furniture that is usable and adaptable for a range of celebrations to offer great flexibility, no matter what the occasion. Whereas some super comfy lounge chairs or even a standing hammock may be ideal for those who would prefer quiet solitude.

Styling Your Alfresco

No matter if you have a large Alfresco Grande or a smaller compact space, adding your personal style is easy once you have your furniture selected, such as adding an outdoor Kitchen space, some feature lighting or outdoor fans and finishing the space of with some stylish accessories like a table centrepiece, small pot plant or lanterns.
