As we step into 2024, the world of bathroom design is booming with innovation and creativity, offering endless possibilities when it comes to elevating your home. We have compiled a list of the styles and designs that are shaping bathroom aesthetics this year, offering inspiration and solutions for those of you transforming your bathroom into an oasis of style and comfort.

Mixing metals in the Riviera

There is a noticeable return to embracing colour and texture in bathrooms. Ditching the traditional approach of matching hardware, homeowners are actively looking to incorporate bursts of colour and tactile elements into their spaces. Nadine, head of Interior Design, observed that ‘fun texture, tile shapes, colours, patterns, and textures are really taking over the bathroom,’ saying that mixing metals, whether it is the subtle gleam of nickel, brushed brass or bronze finishes, adds visual interest and character to a bathroom. Spa inspired San Marino

Spa-like bathrooms focus on creating a serene atmosphere, particularly in larger spaces. While we may not be able to offer an in-home masseuse, we can supply materials, amenities, and sensory elements that recreate the experience of your beloved wellness retreat. The coastal modern San Marino Encore evokes a feeling of calm, with large format stone-like tiles, round above-bench sinks, and a designated wet area, looking out to a lush, green feature wall. These design features enhance the spa-like ambience, embracing natural elements in modern bathroom design.

Modern living in the Beachmere

Contemporary bathrooms capture a blend of sleek sophistication and modern elegance, defined by grey tones, clean lines, and a minimalist aesthetic. Combining chrome, concrete, geometric shapes and soft lighting, our Beachmere display captures this harmonious blend of textures and finishes that create a luxurious yet contemporary sanctuary. This combination of selections creates an inviting atmosphere while reflecting modern living.

Nature's embrace in the Bayswater

There is a growing embrace of natural materials over manmade ones, with a shift towards using elements like zellige tiles, stone and terracotta tiles. At McDonald Jones, our home design experts recommend using a matte or natural finish to create an earthy appeal in your new home, reserving gloss tiles for a sheik, silky look.
