Build for a cure

McDonald Jones are building for somehing BIG

We are building one of our stunning architecturally designed homes for a great cause.

Childhood cancer is the single greatest cause of death from disease in Australian children*. McDonald Jones Homes is making a difference by building a brand new home that will fund vital research into diagnosis and treatment technologies that will help save the lives of children in Australia facing this terrible disease.

We are joining forces with Austral Bricks and the Wearn Brothers Group to build our popular Havana One four-bedroom design, which will be fully furnished thanks to Freedom and Electrolux. All elements of the Build for a Cure house will be donated, from the plot of land, to the interior design, stylish furnishings, appliances and the garden landscaping, so the lucky purchaser will buy a beautiful home inside and out, and support the Children’s Cancer Institute.

The Details

When: The home was built and furnished over 21 days during International Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, with the build beginning on Monday 8 September.

Where: The home has been built in the beautiful area of Glenmore Park, Penrith in Sydney

“McDonald Jones has made a commitment to making a difference in the communities that we build in. We are building a home for the Children’s Cancer Institute because we believe that children deserve the best possible chance for a long future.” – Bill McDonald

The Build for a Cure cause

Proceeds of the Build for a Cure project will go towards Children’s Cancer Institute, the only independent medical research institute in Australia wholly dedicated to ‘childhood’ cancer.
Their research programs bring together recognised leaders in the field under a common aim of ultimately driving improved health outcomes for children with cancer. Their programs focus on understanding childhood cancer to assist in preventing its occurrence, searching for more effective diagnosis, examining better and safer treatment options and ultimately finding a cure for children affected by this disease.
Visit their website for more information on Build for a Cure and the cause.
