McDonald Jones’ ongoing commitment to support the Mark Hughes Foundation reached a new height in May.

Earlier last month at the McDonald Jones Stadium, also known as the Beanie for Brain Cancer Stadium, it was announced the Stadium logo would be wearing a giant beanie to raise awareness for the Beanie For Brain Cancer cause.

McDonald Jones Homes Founder Bill McDonald was delighted to be supporting such a worthy charity for another year in a row.

“Mark has done an amazing job raising the profile of brain cancer in our community and beyond. Since its inception MHF has raised more than five million dollars towards research and assistance for brain cancer patients and their families,” Bill said.

“By offering up naming rights to the stadium we hope we can help Mark’s foundation raise even more money and awareness to this important cause.”

With more than 1,600 Australians dying every year from brain cancer and vital research into a cure desperately needed, Venues NSW and the Newcastle Knights were more than eager to help increase awareness and funds for research. The Knights also showed their support by wearing and auctioning off a commemorative jersey during the NRL’s Beanie For Brain Cancer Round on Sunday 27 May.

Mark Hughes admitted he was delighted to see the huge beanie hitched to the front of the stadium.

“Just when you think we can’t top an idea for the NRL round of Beanie for Brain Cancer along comes McDonald Jones Homes and Venues NSW with a giant beanie!” Mark said.

The beanie continued to keep the stadium warm during June while the Beanie For Brain Cancer 2018 campaign continued. If you stopped by for a photo, make sure to support this terrific initiative by sharing your photo and spreading the word by tagging @markhughesfoundation.
