McDonald Jones Homes takes its responsibilities under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) seriously and this policy details how we collect and use information about you.

Acknowledgement and acceptance of General Conditions

This site is owned and operated by McDonald Jones Homes (hereafter known as "The Organisation"). Your access to this site is conditional upon your acceptance and compliance with the terms, conditions, notices and disclaimers contained in this document. Your use of, and/or access to, this site constitutes your agreement to be bound by these General Conditions. The Organisation reserves the right to amend these General Conditions at anytime.

1. Collection and Use of Personal Information

The collection and use of information that personally identifies you may occur at the following times:

  1. When you make contact to receive information at display homes, through email communication, over the telephone or through our websites.
  2. As a result of your use of the McDonald Jones Homes website or related website such as home and land package solutions by McDonald Jones Homes.
  3. Communication before, during and after the purchase of your home.
  4. Communication before, during and after the purchase and construction of your home.
  5. When you have dealings directly with McDonald Jones Homes or with its solicitor or agents.

Personal Information may include your name, address, personal and/or work contact details, including phone numbers and email addresses. This information may also detail the nature of your enquiry or purchase requirements. It may include any information that may be required in order for us to respond to your request, help you in the purchase of your new home, or help us with research.

 In some circumstances, we may also collect your Personal Information from third parties but where we do so, we will ensure that we act in accordance with relevant privacy laws

2. McDonald Jones Homes Use of Your Personal Information

We use your Personal Information to respond to your enquiries, request and our dealings in general regarding our products and services. If you are an existing or potential customer, McDonald Jones Homes may also inform you about promotions and other of our products and services which we think may be of interest to you.

Personal information collected through the use of and operation of the McDonald Jones Homes websites is used to create reports about web based transactions and such information is used internally and only shared with the vendors who provide the services for the web pages.

Other purposes for which we collect your Personal Information include (but is not limited to):

  1. Providing you with information about products and services as it relates to contract homes, according to your request,
  2. Promoting and marketing our existing and future products and services to you; and
  3. To better cater for identified needs and the creation of new products and services.

We may use your Personal Information for other purposes not listed above but which will be made obvious to you at the time we collect the information, or for purposes required or permitted by law.
If we use your Personal Information for direct marketing purposes or direct marketing communications with you, we will give you the option of opting-out of receiving any further such communications.

3. McDonald Jones Homes Disclosure to Third Parties

We may disclose your Personal Information to third parties such as our related companies, consultants, contractors and service providers to enable those third parties to assist us with providing you with our products and services, but only where those third parties are under the same obligations in relation to your Personal Information as the obligations set out in this privacy policy. We may also disclose Personal information if required by law, such as regulatory requirements most commonly with Local Councils.

 As detailed above at clause 2. we may disclose your Personal Information to direct marketing providers or research companies or any other party with your express or implied consent. If you do not wish your Personal Information to be provided to marketing or research provider please advise us in writing and / or exercise the option of opting-out of receiving communications.

4. Access to Your Information and Right of Amendment

We take reasonable steps to ensure that all Personal Information held by McDonald Jones Homes is correct. You have the right to seek access to the Personal Information which we hold about you and to ask us to correct it if you consider it to be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.

5. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your Personal Information from misuse, loss and from unauthorised access, amendment or disclosure.  We note that no data transmission over the internet is completely secure and any Personal Information you send to us over the Internet including via e-mail, is sent at your risk.

Miscellaneous

These General Conditions are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia. Disputes arising from these General Conditions are in the first instance exclusively subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia. The Organisation reserves the right to make changes to this site at any time.
